The Walk
The Golden Horn (Haliç) promenade is a transformed waterfront stretching 8 km from Eminönü to Eyüp. Once an industrial wasteland, it's now a scenic walkway lined with parks, playgrounds, and cultural venues. The path follows the historic inlet that has shaped Istanbul's history for millennia.
Along the Way
Starting from Eminönü: Fener and Balat neighborhoods with colorful houses, Rahmi Koç Museum, Miniaturk, and ending at Eyüp Sultan Mosque with the Pierre Loti cable car nearby. The walk passes through both ancient neighborhoods and modern parks, offering constantly changing views.
Visiting Info
The promenade is open 24/7 and free. Best on a sunny morning or late afternoon. Rent a bicycle from Isbike stations along the route for a faster experience. Multiple bus stops along the way if you want to shorten the walk.
